Part One

Link building has become a major part of search engine marketing. It is used (along with many other metrics) to determine how popular a web site is. Popularity is an important thing to search engines, because popular sites are often popular for a reason. Many giving SEO advice would have you believe that you need as many links as you can get, which is partially true. Today I'm going to discuss the different types of links and the best kinds to get for your web site.

Firefox extensions for web developers

In a never ending quest to build better web pages and faster I came across a list of Firefox extensions for web developers. I was trying to find an extension that I used to use a while ago and came across some new ones that were really amazing. While I wouldn't call all of these must have extensions for anyone, a few really do help in building better web pages. Anyone here who builds their own web pages (or uses Firefox) should take a look.

SEO Tip: Sitemaps

Having a sitemap is a very useful thing when it comes to search engines. A sitemap allows a search engine to easily find all of your pages, especially when certain things (like flash based menus) are involved. They also allow you to immediately inform search engines of your updated content. I highly recommend using one if your page gets beyond a few pages.
