When people are searching for things they often type something wrong. This happens every day, and it might have even happened to you right now. SEO Visibitly is optimizing content or even better pay per click ads to focus on misspellings. It is often a follow up to a main SEO strategy, but it can be quite cost effective. While researching for these terms you might even come across a new niche of traffic to draw upon.

With a bit of keyword research you can find all kinds of keywords with little to no competition. Some of these are niche terms, and sometimes they are misspellings of common terms. So common in fact, that they might generate ten or more searches a day. Getting a few of those "fat-finger" clicks for 1% of the price might be worth the effort.

PPC Optimization vs. Organic Optimization

Both organic SEO and pay per click for misspellings have advantages. The PPC advantage is that it can start working for you (and often putting you at number one) now. Building and linking pages for misspellings is often too time consuming to be worth it. If there is already healthy PPC competition for the misspelled word, or if you really have more time than budget, then maybe the organic route will work for you. There is a downside to this type of marketing. Many search engines recognize common mistakes and offer a "Did you mean?" link. This is not to say that you won't see traffic, but you will probably see far less now days. This is again why I favor the PPC method. Sometimes people can be enticed to click your link and you get targeted traffic at a huge discount.
