Why build a SEO self help community?

The nice thing about running a web site like mine is that I can direct people to all kinds of great resources, and I can help people build better web sites. The down side is that there is too much to cover, and not enough free time to write it. So I decided to make a place that easy to join, has some great info, and everyone can publish their own questions and answers. It's also a great place for people to promote new web sites as the site gets a bit of traffic from Ning.com and the search engines crawl it regularly. Some people might just join up to get an easy link, but I'm really hoping that everyone who joins up will at least take a few seconds to say hi, or maybe ask a question.

The most important part of the community is the people. Since I haven't really promoted the site at all it's not much of a community. That's why I'm making an open call to everyone who reads this to join up or write a blog post about it. I have it setup so everyone can get three links in their profile (they are regular links, not nofollow links), so you can promote a few different sites if you have them. Also when you sign up say hello and feel free to ask a few questions. I have a few blog posts, but nothing major yet. I'll be working on the links over the next few weeks to give some nice SEO love to our members. Join up and get your name out there for everyone to see.
